What if the visual arts were also perceived as an expression of the divine? To recognize the divine again increasingly as a natural integral part of man, without assigning the word God to an external religious, spiritual belief system ? This is a question I ask myself often while my artistic process takes me into the unconscious, invisible space. In this meta-state I am confronted with the ups and downs, the light and the shadow of our human existence and yet a nature-given divinity arises and is liberating and empowering. The artwork is the Result and part of this process. In a nutshell my life story, the call of my soul that lead me to the art and my career as an artist let me experience my core values and connectedness with the divine in its natural form as a reinforcing love; and at the same time a conscious recognition and detachment from old paradigms and systems takes place. Being in love and aligned with all that is and actively participating in life from this state of awareness is a profound holistic and sustainable foundation, which is certainly economically, ecologically and humanly greater and healthier. It is my personal view, based and witnessed on my experiences – nowadays a work of art should be understood as a loving expression of the Divine, as an aspect of this loving Divinity exists in both you and me at all times.

The force of this natural given energy takes up space, expands, and becomes tangible while it has an after effect beyond the visual. The artwork represents this transformational process. The Radiation of this Energy is perceptive from one to three-dimensional Objects to multimedia Room Installations. The hidden Space within myself , this invisible Existence and reinforcing Form of Energy is the Essence or so called Source of Love and therefore my Playground. This Inner Space vibrates and releases the Energy of Love into a World where emotional Abuse and material Consumption is still used as a Compensation to deny the Lack of Love in ones Heart. The Energy is a driving Force that can be recognized in every single Work of Art in the Style of the Color I use, the Shape, the Line and Structure. My artistic approach is informal, fluid and floats from within.
ART as an Expression of the DIVINE – I AM in tune with the Frequency of the DIVINE that is called LOVE. It empowers me as so my Artwork to light up the World with the natural given Gift, the POWER of LOVE.

personal statement
art reflects the divine and I am simply divine. And this is not just a statement as the Divine , the infinity of consciousness , the source of love or how you name it, this plays the essential part in my life and is reflected within my personality, the story of my life , the holistic lifestyle I am drawn to, the experiences and wisdom I gain. As a result, my art emerges and brings forth a consciousness that is empowering. It is an ongoing adventurous journey to the inner core of myself and reveals who am I. Therefore I AM to me is the highest instance of spirit and resonates with the state of mind in human form and circumscribes the divine, the absolute. I experience this as a crystal-clear essential energy, which empowers myself as so the Art which emerges from it. Call it Energy, Power, Force, Love. In this state of BE-ing I clairvoyantly recognize all-embracingly and no-thing else matters. It grounds me as human while the aesthetics of the invisible opens up and the voice of the Divine is present and Inner Wisdom arises. Therefore the visual Art in itself is a priceless treasure to me as so for mankind and its steady development.

and visual SIGNATURE | The Circle is one of the oldest archetypal Symbols in the World and stands for Unity and the Absolute. As a Symbol of Heaven and the Universe, the Circle and its Cycle refers to the spiritual and feminine Principle. The Circle is the Source of my Life. This Painting – an Enso – radiates a Power that I associate with the Love of all Being. In almost everyone of my Artwork, the Circle is visible through the Line, whether I use a Brush , Pencil, Crayon or a Spray Can and so it is the Energy that is released with each of these Lines. This Circle sums up the Essence and Philosophy of my Life as so the Act of Creation and the Artwork in itself.

Petronilla Hohenwarter, is a professional Artist based in Germany. She graduated from the Academy of Social Pedagogy in Passau in 1986. From 1987-1997 she worked as a Social Worker in the Field of Education. She quit her Job and started private Training in applied Metapsychology in Munich. There she acquired a Certification as a a Instructor for Traumatic Incident Reduction from 1995-1997.
Since early Childhood she was fascinated by abstract Forms of Expression of any kind. It was only a matter of Time until she was completely taken over by the Fascination of Art while traveling to South East Asia 1997. The Spirits of Art were calling her in Indonesia and the Artist participated as a Guest Student temporarily from 1997-2000 at the Art Faculty of the University of Surakarta and took various Art Classes such as Free Painting, Ceramics, Installation and new Media. At the same Time, her first Exhibitions took Place in Germany and Indonesia. Her Love and Appreciation for indigenous Peoples, their cultural Wisdom and spiritual Rootedness made the Artist perceive the Complexity of Humanity even deeper during her Travels around the World. Through her personal Experiences of more than 25 years as a Painter, this inner Wisdom is conveyed through the encouraging and illuminating Art she creates.
In 1999, the intern. Publishing Group (PNP) was the first Public Art Collection to acquire her Artworks. From 1997-2002 Petronilla Hohenwarter attended selected Art Classes also in Europe to expand her Knowledge and Experience into the World of modern Art. From 1997-2004 she traveled increasingly to Southeast Asia. The Debutant Award from the State Ministry of Art, Science and Research took place in 2002 with the Artists first Solo Exhibition. In 2004 her Art was again awarded 1. Price in Florence, Italy. From 2004-2020 the Artist participated in several international Art Symposia and Residencies in Europe, Asia and the United States, by Invitation only from Galleries, Art Associations and Foundations. From 2009-2014 Petronilla Hohenwarter worked temporarily in Vienna, Austria. 2015 she again received another Award, dedicated to her cultural and artistic Development. Since 1997 the Artist has been professionally active as an Artist. Her Artwork is listed both nationally and internationally in public and private Collections. Petronilla Hohenwarters visual signature is informal, expressive and visionary and includes painting, drawing and digital art.
The greatest Treasure of my Biography is each single Piece of Art created till now. The Art taught me to appreciate and to worship the Creation out of the Unknown as an all-encompassing Work of Art, it is both enriching and fulfilling.
